Role Summary:
As the part-time Finance Director, you will play a critical role in guiding the financial direction of our organisation during this transformative phase. Working closely with senior management, you will provide strategic financial advice, oversee financial operations, and ensure regulatory compliance. Your expertise and leadership in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting will be invaluable in supporting our growth objectives while maintaining financial stability.
The role is site based for two days per week.
- Financial Strategy: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, aligning it with the overall business goals.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to provide accurate and insightful financial information.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, statements, and analysis for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow management, optimizing working capital and implementing effective treasury practices.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Cost Management: Drive cost optimization initiatives, analyze cost structures, and identify areas for efficiency improvement.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support cross-functional initiatives and ensure financial integration.
- Technological Advancements: Drive digital transformation initiatives within the finance function to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to the finance team, promoting a high-performance culture.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional accounting designation (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience as a Finance Director or a similar senior financial leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and risk management.
- Familiarity with UK financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing finance teams.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
