Our client is a micro-brewery based in London, they are looking for an experienced FD to assist with the business development and expansion plans.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part-Time Financial Director (FD) to join our team at a well-established UK Brewery. As the FD, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and stability of the brewery, providing strategic financial guidance and managing all aspects of financial operations. This is a part-time position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to the success of a renowned brewery.
- Financial Strategy: Develop and implement effective financial strategies, ensuring alignment with the brewery's overall business goals and objectives.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow projections, providing accurate and timely financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and legal requirements.
- Financial Control: Establish and maintain robust financial control systems and procedures, safeguarding the brewery's assets and minimizing financial risks.
- Tax and Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, manage VAT returns, and liaise with external auditors to facilitate the completion of audits.
- Cost Management: Identify opportunities to optimize costs and enhance operational efficiency, analyzing financial data to make informed recommendations.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and oversee banking relationships to ensure the brewery's liquidity needs are met.
- Financial Partnerships: Collaborate with stakeholders, including brewery owners, executives, and department heads, providing financial advice and guidance to support their decision-making processes.
- Team Leadership: Manage a small finance team, providing leadership, guidance, and mentoring to ensure their professional growth and the achievement of departmental goals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on financial and accounting regulations, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and guidelines.
- Professional Qualifications: Hold a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent, with a strong background in finance and accounting.
- Experience: Possess extensive experience in financial management, preferably in the brewing or related industries.
- Strategic Thinker: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide valuable insights and recommendations.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and using accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Xero).
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Leadership Abilities: Proven experience in leading and managing a finance team, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Integrity and Ethical Conduct: High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in dealing with financial matters.
- Knowledge of UK Financial Regulations: Familiarity with UK financial regulations, accounting principles (UK GAAP or IFRS), and tax laws.
