Role Overview: The Part-Time CFO will be a key member of our executive team, responsible for providing strategic financial guidance, driving financial planning, implementing controls, and ensuring the optimiation of the company's financial performance during this critical phase of expansion.
- Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- M&A Leadership: Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Direct involvement in due diligence, negotiations, and integration processes.
- Risk Management: Assess, mitigate, and manage financial risks, providing insights to enhance decision-making and maintain financial stability.
- Cash Flow Management: Implement and monitor cash flow strategies, optimizing liquidity while supporting operational needs and growth plans.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, providing timely and accurate information to the executive team and stakeholders.
- Investment Analysis: Evaluate potential investments and opportunities, providing recommendations based on ROI and strategic alignment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements, keeping abreast of evolving industry standards and best practices.
- Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional development.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes. Provide insights and analysis to drive decision-making and support operational and strategic planning.
- Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track financial performance. Develop and implement reporting mechanisms for effective evaluation and transparency.
- Capital Structure Management: Manage the organisation's capital structure, including debt, equity, and financing strategies. Optimize the capital allocation to support growth and value creation.
- Proven experience as a CFO, FD, or similar senior financial role in an industrial or scaling business environment.
- Extensive knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial planning.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable strategies and recommendations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of collaborating across different departments and effectively presenting financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience in managing financial aspects during a phase of rapid growth or scaling up.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An ACA or relevant professional certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in financial software and excellent spreadsheet skills.
- Competitive compensation package based on experience and commitment level, £600 to £700 per day
