Our clients are a successful £90m food business based in Nuneaton, known for our quality products and innovative approaches in the food industry. As their company continues to grow, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of FP&A to lead their financial planning and analysis function, providing strategic insights to drive our business forward.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning: Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making, including variance analysis, trend identification, and performance metrics.
  • Reporting: Develop and deliver comprehensive financial reports to senior management, highlighting key financial trends and performance indicators.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with department heads to provide financial support and guidance, helping them understand financial implications of their decisions.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Support strategic initiatives by providing financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business case development.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial planning and analysis activities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the FP&A team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow projections, ensuring the company maintains adequate liquidity for its operations.
  • Financial Systems: Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of financial systems and tools to improve data accuracy and reporting capabilities.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Undertake various ad hoc financial projects and analyses as required by the CFO and senior management.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. Professional accounting or financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA) is required.
  • Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the food or FMCG industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools. Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) are essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing FP&A team.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to provide valuable insights and recommendations to senior management.
