Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Fractional CFO to lead our fundraising efforts and provide strategic financial guidance as we scale. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of raising capital, ideally in the aerospace or a related high-tech industry, and will provide financial oversight, forecasting, and advisory support to drive sustainable growth. This is a remote, part-time position designed for a highly skilled finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Fundraising Strategy & Execution:
    • Lead capital raising initiatives, including debt, equity, venture capital, and other financial instruments.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with venture capital firms, institutional investors, and other funding sources.
    • Prepare and present financial models, investment decks, and materials to potential investors.
    • Guide the company through due diligence and negotiations to close funding rounds.
  2. Financial Planning & Strategy:
    • Work closely with the CEO and executive team to align financial strategies with overall business goals.
    • Develop long-term financial plans, including forecasting, budgeting, and risk management.
    • Provide scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for growth, cash flow management, and potential acquisitions.
  3. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    • Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP or IFRS standards.
    • Oversee compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax obligations, and reporting requirements.
    • Prepare regular reports for stakeholders, including the board, investors, and management team.
  4. Operational Finance & Cash Flow Management:
    • Optimize the company’s capital structure, working capital, and overall cash flow.
    • Implement robust financial controls, processes, and KPIs to ensure the company’s financial health.
    • Provide oversight of any finance-related aspects of operations, from procurement to payroll.
  5. Mergers, Acquisitions & Partnerships:
    • Evaluate potential M&A opportunities and strategic partnerships that could enhance the company’s growth trajectory.
    • Provide financial insight during negotiations for strategic partnerships, joint ventures, or acquisitions.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years in the aerospace industry or a similar high-tech, capital-intensive field.
  • Fundraising Expertise: Demonstrated success in raising capital (Series A, B, or later-stage) from venture capital, private equity, or other institutional investors.
  • Education: MBA or CPA preferred, with strong knowledge of corporate finance, capital markets, and financial strategy.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and budget management.
  • Communication: Strong presentation and negotiation skills; able to engage confidently with investors and stakeholders.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to align financial strategies with the broader goals of a high-growth business.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with aerospace-specific financial challenges, including large capital expenditures, R&D financing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with government contracting, grants, and subsidies related to the aerospace sector.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
