Job Overview:
As the Finance Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the hotel chain. Your role will involve managing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis to support the company's growth and profitability objectives. You will provide strategic financial guidance, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and implement effective internal controls. - Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting obligations.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
- Cash Flow Management and Treasury:
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational requirements.
- Forecast cash flow needs, optimize cash holdings, and evaluate financing options.
- Oversee banking relationships, negotiate financing terms, and manage cash collection processes.
- Develop and implement strategies for risk management and foreign exchange transactions.
- Financial Strategy and Business Development:
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with the leadership team on business development initiatives and investment opportunities.
- Evaluate potential acquisitions, conduct financial due diligence, and assess risks.
- Assist in developing and implementing pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and professional growth.
- Set performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial understanding and decision-making.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Finance Director - Weston-Supe-Mare - Somerset
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a similar senior finance leadership role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and accounting standards.
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and compliance in the hospitality sector.
- Proficiency in cash flow management, treasury, and working capital optimization.

- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.

- Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
