- Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize the company's financial performance and drive growth.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the company's strategic plans and objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage the annual budgeting and planning process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Financial Management:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including management accounts, financial statements, and cash flow projections.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Cash Flow and Working Capital Management:
- Develop and implement effective cash flow management strategies to optimize liquidity and support operational needs.
- Monitor cash flow performance, identify potential risks or constraints, and recommend appropriate actions to ensure financial stability.
- Financial Controls and Risk Management:
- Establish and maintain robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing appropriate risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address financial compliance matters.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for financial matters, representing the company in financial negotiations and collaborations.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and providing guidance and mentorship.
- Support the professional growth and development of team members.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with other departments to ensure integrated financial planning and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in a senior finance leadership role, preferably within the retail or consumer electronics industry.
- Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of financial management principles, practices, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic decision-making and drive financial performance.
- Experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Sound knowledge of working capital management and cash flow optimization.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
