As they continue to expand, they are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Commercial Finance Manager to join our finance team. This is a key role in driving financial performance and supporting the business in making informed decisions.
Role Overview: The Commercial Finance Manager will be responsible for providing strategic financial insights and analysis to drive business performance. You will work closely with senior management and various departments to support commercial decision-making, ensure financial targets are met, and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency. This role requires a blend of strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Reporting into the CFO, the responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to the following:
- Liaising with the auditors and management accountant to prepare statutory financial statements for internal and external use and supporting auditing efforts
- Oversight of monthly management accounts: P&L, Balance Sheet & Cashflow
- Managing cash flow on a weekly basis by tracking transactions and regularly producing and reviewing 13-week cash flow forecasts
- Annual budgeting & quarterly forecasting
- Setting, communicating, and monitoring KPIs and goals for performance and growth as part of a comprehensive monthly reporting suite that showcases the company's performance (both for P&L and cash flow)
- Identifying and implementing profit improvement opportunities
- Continuing to develop and improve internal finance and business systems, together with the use of appropriate technology and automation
- Liaising and supporting the management accountant regarding filing tax returns (e.g., VAT, CIS etc.)
- Using financial data to perform analysis on the business
- Supporting the business with regards to the existing bridge loan and property development portfolios, including day to day portfolio management and troubleshooting where required
- Challenging and providing advice on growing the business and improving financial performance
- Ensuring effective internal financial controls are in place and compliance with UK GAAP and applicable regulatory legislation for financial and tax reporting
- Liaising with external advisers and meeting external reporting obligations (including annual audit process)
- Managing outsourced commercial relationships (including pensions, ICT, and insurance)
Qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ICAEW, ACCA etc.)
