About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Part-Time Finance Director (FD) or Financial Controller (FC) to support a dynamic e-commerce business based in Doncaster. This is a short-term project role focused on reviewing and strengthening the finance function, with the opportunity for ongoing ad-hoc support post-project.
This role would suit a commercially aware, qualified finance professional with e-commerce experience who can quickly assess current operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement practical, value-adding changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing finance processes, controls, and reporting structures.
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations and improve accuracy, efficiency, and insight.
- Support with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Work alongside internal team members and liaise with external accountants as needed.
- Provide training, guidance, and structure to the in-house finance team.
- Advise on system improvements or changes, particularly regarding multi-platform e-commerce sales and reconciliation.
- Communicate clearly with business owners and key stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong SME or e-commerce background.
- Experience in financial leadership, system/process improvement, and hands-on support.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results quickly.
- Comfortable working on-site in Doncaster during the initial phase (flexibility possible thereafter).
- Available immediately or at short notice.
