Job Summary: The Part-Time FD Lifesciences will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategic planning within our lifesciences organization. This role requires a strong understanding of financial management principles and expertise in the lifesciences industry. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the executive team to drive financial performance, implement cost-saving strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Identify areas for cost optimization and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
- Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
- Conduct financial analysis to evaluate investment opportunities and support decision-making processes.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and expansion.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting principles, and industry standards.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Assess and mitigate financial risks, implementing appropriate controls and measures.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support.
- Collaborate with external partners, including financial institutions, auditors, and advisors.
- Communicate financial results, trends, and strategies to executive management and board of directors.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, CIMA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Financial Director, ideally hvaing a similar role within the lifesciences industry.
- Strong knowledge of lifesciences financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements specific to the lifesciences sector.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems and MS Office suite.
Working Hours and Compensation:
- This position is part-time, being 2 days per week.
- Working hours and schedule can be discussed and agreed upon during the interview process.
- Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
